Fourth of July weekend is here and the City of Irving has some exciting events and activities planned for attendees which orient around this year's theme of A Tribute to the United States Presidents.
Events will include an Independence Day parade starting at 9am with food, entertainment and games and ending with a fireworks show at 9:30pm.

The City Council runoff election recently took place on June 18th. Two spots were up for grabs, City Council Place 3 and the all-important Mayor of Irving.
The results are in, and Beth Van Duyne has become Irving's new mayor, defeating incumbant Herbert Gears. Dennis Webb defeated David Gutierrez for City Council Place 3.
With the race now over, Van Duyne will concentrate on holding Town Hall Meetings to get on the same page regarding major issues such as the Irving Entertainment Center.
